While I was sick last week, I taught myself how to crochet. I was a bit sceptical at first as to weather I would like crochet, but it's pretty darn fun and quick. Definitely do not plan to replace knitting with crochet, but it sure is a neat thing to know how to do for finishing! Here are some doilies that I made:)

Hi, Steph! I'm visiting from the Stitch Marker swaps and wanting to check YOU out while I prepare your package for mailing. Get some ideas by getting to know you better...that sort of thing. :)

I had to chuckle at your post about teaching yourself to crochet...WTG, Steph! It is fun! The chuckle came in when you wrote "Definitely do not plan to replace knitting with crochet, but it sure is a neat thing to know..." As a crocheter first (taught by my mom) and having taught myself to knit back in '98, I say the same thing...only in REVERSE! Knitting is a neat thing to know but I won't be replacing crocheting with it! haha!

I think it's great when we learn something new. I learned to knit because a CROCHET magazine had a KNITTED sweater in it (with crochet borders, hence the crochet part for the crochet magazine) and I HAD to know how to make it. So I taught myself to knit. Continental, it turned out, as I crocheted first and it influenced my knitting greatly. And while I don't knit as often as I crochet, I love knowing how to knit in case I see something else I just have to make!

I'd better go! Leaving a novel here. Going back to getting your stitch marker package ready. :)

Other Fun Facts..................

I taught myself to knit by watching a woman while on a flight from Scotland to the USA in 1996.

I taught myself how to spin yarn Feb 15th, 2007. I think I've done fairly well:)

'Lunabud' is a combination of two dogs' names I was loved by, Buddy and Luna:)
