NAME THIS COLORWAY CONTEST!!

New Contest....

NAME THIS COLORWAY!!

OK, I have a new contest going. I just can't seem to pull a name for this fun and wildly colored combination out of my itsy brain.  Mom stopped by the house and was practically drooling over this one.  Very bright colors on the superfine softness of 80's merino top!

The rules are:

1. If you can't say it to a second grader, in church or to your Granny, don't use it in the name.

2. To enter you can submit your name idea in the comments section to this post.

3. In the event of a duplicate entry, the person who first submitted the name has the valid entry.

4. Contest runs until the end of NOVEMBER!  Just in time for the holidays.

Prize is $10 credit for fiber or yarn or what ever from my Etsy shops

hmmm, how about "tangerine grove"? the colors make me think about blue skies, green trees, and orange fruit!

I'm really bad at coming up with names, as you can see. Mostly I just wanted to let you know that I posted about your contest on WiKnit (http://wiknit.blogspot.com), my knitting contest blog

My first thought was "Autumn Skies".

Ice Cream Truck or Sherbety

"Bluebird meadow" is my suggestion. It's so bright and pretty!

My first thought was Bird of Paradise -- the plant. See this link for a photo.

These colors remind me of a holiday exclusive for The Netherlands: Queen's Day. The Orange stands symbol for our Royal Family, the green for the fresh grass in April, and the blue for festive skies. It is a mostly outdoors celebrated holiday.

As name I'd go for: Hurray for Orange :)

It looks rather like a "Riot at the Golden Peacock" to me.

Spring Swing.

I know that this will make people think I'm nuts, but I saw those colors and thought of a little girl in her new spring outfit. She's all dressed pretty (maybe being taken to Grandma's or something?), and she's outside on a wooden tree swing in her pretty dress.

nice colorway, would love to see it spun up!

Fall Perfection

Sandcastles

Sunshiney Day

the colors so remind me of nature, a perfect blue sky, or sand , leaves, green of trees or grasses. All happy!

How about "Summer Fruit Salad" It reminds me of the blueberry, cantalope and honeydew salads of the summer.
My other suggestion would be "fruit strip lollipop" for similar reasons (and a bit of a reminder of the gum!)

My name for this bright happy yarn-to-be is Serendipity

My suggestion: Parakeet.

My first thought when I saw it was Easter. Something like Easter basket or Easter grass or Easter morning or Easter bunny or Ostara or something with the name spring in it, Springtide or Spring Season, Easter Season.

"Florida November" or "November in Florida"... Because I see all these colors in my own neighborhood right now. Brown/orange leaves (on some trees and on the ground), green grass and green leaves (on most trees), and blue, blue sky.

This sounds strange, but my first thought was toddlers, something about that green.

Maybe Margaritaville (you have Mango, Moonlight, and Original ;-)), or Beach Bronze, Beach Umbrella, or last one- I know what boys like 'cause it looks like boy's colors to me :-)

"Orange You Happy" - this roving makes me smile. Absolutely LOVE your colorways - I need to get back to the Etsy site now & see what I can't live without.

When I look at this I think of a meadow in the mountains. You have the blue for the sky and the green for the grasses and flower stems and the orange reminds me of orange meadow flowers. So I woould call this Mountain Meadows. You did an awesome job dyeing!

It instantly reminded me of oranges, lemons, limes, and blueberries...so my name guess is:
Citrus and Blueberries

When I look at this I can imagine what the happy spring colors must be like from a bunny's point of view, so my idea is "Bunny's Bliss"

How about "comfy chameleon"? That was the first thought that popped into my head. Second thought was "earth, wind, and fire", but I really like the chameleon one better.

Take care,

I have several suggestions, I hope that's okay! Here they are:

- Sherbet
- Autumn Forest

For some reason it made me think of the last portion of this nursery-rhyme, too: "Sugar & spice & everything nice, that's what little girls are made of. Snakes & snails & puppy-dog's tails, that's what little boys are made of." I couldn't come up with a good name that referenced it, though.

It's such a lovely colorway! Can't wait to see somebody spin it up!

I see citrus, berries, and melon; so, what about fruit splash, fruitcicle, fruit compote, fruit salad, etc.

Other Fun Facts..................

I taught myself to knit by watching a woman while on a flight from Scotland to the USA in 1996.

I taught myself how to spin yarn Feb 15th, 2007. I think I've done fairly well:)

'Lunabud' is a combination of two dogs' names I was loved by, Buddy and Luna:)
