Knitters Treat Exchange Received!

OH MY! I pulled in the drive today and there it was! A rather large box, all the way from the UK! All the way from Kat in the UK! Hidden in all of the white pop-corn peanuts was a yarn that I have been itching to try for quite some time now, but had never come across in the LYS's, recycled sari silk yarn. And wow is it georgeous! Kat also included some absolutely fabulous wool that she dyed herself using kool-aid into some lovely peach and pink tones. I am going to have to think up a fun project that I can use both of these in. My poor over worked feet are definitely thanking Kat profusely for the pampering products. I have had so much fun flipping through the 'Simply Knitting' magazine and the little pattern book. Perhaps I should pick a pattern out of the felting patterns for the kool-aid wool.. Hmm, but what to choose? What to choose! There were also two (now one:) very fresh scented candles that Kat made herself! I have been burning one this evening in hopes of falling asleep on time as it is such a fabulously relaxing scent! Tomorrow I will be using the bath gel and having a long hot soak with the second candle. To top it all of she had 4 little baggies of beads scattered through out the packing peanuts. Talk about a fun FUN box! Thank you so very much for all the goodies Kat! I love them!!!

Awww! I am really glad you liked everything!!! I was sooo worried as this is the first package I have ever put together, as its my first swap too! I haven't ever sent anything to the US before and so was worried about you get charged at customs etc. so put a totally different price on the customs form, as you can't put a price on hand dyed yarn! Glad you likedd the choccy, its one of my faves too! I am going to use some of my hand dyed yarn for socks, and a pair of Fetching from this seasons Knitty. Its 100% merino, so maybe it will felt too? Glad you liked it all, thanks for the comment on my blog, I'm sat here with a big cheesy grin now, and the postal service was quite quick! My husband and I sat here last night wondering about whether you would have received it! Our Post Office said 5 days, so thats pretty good! Keep in touch! Kat x

The merino might not felt if it is superwash:) I have never had to pay a customs price before. I think our customs limits are alot higher than in other countries. I guess that makes up for the slow postal service...lol It's even slower to get stuff from Canada and we're on the same continent!...lol

Oh thats good! I am not sure if it is superwash or not to be honest, as I buy it from ebay undyed, as for the sari silk, I have seen some patterns on the web for lovely little bags, very boho, i'll have to try and find them for you!

OH, I'm going to have fun with the sari silk:) I figured a little contest would be fun. The winning pattern (one I like the most:) will get some free homespun and hand made stitch markers! Should be tons of fun seeing what folks come up with!

What a nice package! What also caught my eye was the Aero! My husband and I went to Ireland for our honeymoon in November and that was our daily "end of the day thank goodness we survived driving on the left side of the road for one more day" treat.

Other Fun Facts..................

I taught myself to knit by watching a woman while on a flight from Scotland to the USA in 1996.

I taught myself how to spin yarn Feb 15th, 2007. I think I've done fairly well:)

'Lunabud' is a combination of two dogs' names I was loved by, Buddy and Luna:)
