New Contest!!!! Name This Colorway!

Contest Ended October 2008

OK, I have a new contest going. Last night i was at the dye pot and thought using red purple and brown would look beautiful together. I know sounds like a funky combination, but hey I'm a fun and funky gal....lol

Any how, I am running a contest to see who can come up with the name I like best to call this colorway. The rules are:

1. If you can't say it to a second grader, in church or to your Granny, don't use it in the name.

2. To enter you can submit your name idea in the comments section to this post.

3. In the event of a duplicate entry, the person who first submitted the name has the valid entry.

4. Contest runs until the end of October 2008!

Prize is $20 worth of fiber or yarn from my Etsy shop http://lunabudknits.etsy.com !

How about Belmont, or Fullerton? Those are the names of the Chicago L stations where the red, purple, and brown lines meet.

It is beautiful-has to be prairie spring-the colors of the lupens and the indian paintbrush blooming in the prairie sand. I can smell the flowers when I look at it!

Sea Weave! My sister, my niece and i were all checking it out and we thought it reminded us of under the sea in the little meermaid. We also LOVE
the photos of Thing One and Thing Two - and their names! :)

This is a great contest idea. I'm thinking something along the lines of "sugarplum." Can't wait to see what you pick!

Birthday Bash, it looks like a very festive yarn.

Sorry if this is a dup, but I'm not sure the first attempt worked. The yarn is beautiful, and for some reason made me think of a belly dancer's costume, so I'd call it Sultana's Swirl.

It makes me think of gypsy caravans. I think you should name it Caravan.

I don't know what it is but it looks romantic to me. So I think "Twilight in Paris" is a good name.

I think its an awesome combination. It reminds me a bit of Mardi Gras but not quite so I was thinking something like MASQUERADE. So I think that will be my suggestion.

It does remind me of the colors in a the desert canyon, but I love teh funkyness of it - it's got a bit of sparkle to it like falling rain, so I'd have to say

1. Desert Canyon Rain
or
2. Berry Desert Canyon(not to be confused with a berry dessert!)
beautiful dye job!

The color combo reminds me of July 4th. Also, those little round things make me think of trinkets that little girls wear.

How about "Star Spangled Bangles"?

Desert Bloom

The red color reminds me of a blooming cholla cactus http://www.arizonahiking.org/elephant_mt1.jpg

The blue/lavendar reminds me of both the purple pancake cactus and the sky later in the day.

The browns and golds remind me of the panoramic views of various mountains in the Sonoran Desert.

It's a delightful set of colors!

I love the color combo. I think "Sari" is a good name. It reminds me of something Indian.

Autumn Sparkles :-)

The red and brown are referring to the leaves falling... and the purple makes the yarn sparkle. I like it a lot

"Red Hat Ladies" or "Carousel" - since it reminds me of painted horses in an old fashioned circus. Well done - it's gorgeous!
